I love exfoliators and this is a wonderful, wonderful peeling solution. I adore the ones from Phytomer, but this one from Deciem The Ordinary is even better and so much cheaper. I do a lot to my skin and have been doing it for some time so I did not feel much when I put this product on my skin. However after the 10 minutes I rinsed off this peeling solution my skin was the smoothest and softest it had been in quite some time.
Allegedly the pink pepperberry extract in this helps soothe irritation caused by chemical exfoliants. I feel that must be true because I have tried other peels with a lower percentage of AHA that have burned more yet I see better results with this peel after removal. Because the price point is so low I also put this on my neck and chest but at the 5 minute mark of having it on my face.
I love this product and will continue using it. I’ve had no adverse reactions to it at all and I use it once, sometimes twice a week. After I wash it off, I make sure to use a moisturising serum followed by a moisturiser that is kind to my skin. I never use vitamin C serums or retinol as this peeling solution is very strong. I use them the following morning though. Definitely follow this with a sunscreen otherwise you are exposing yourself to more sun damage than usual.
The packaging is efficient and no-fuss; the dropper makes it easy to measure the product out precisely and not use too much. The colour is convenient; you have to see where you applied this, because you have to remove all of it, not leave traces in your hairline or behind your ears. The one and only thing I dislike about it is the scent, but since there’s no added fragrance and it’s not strong, I can deal with it.
This peeling solution has become a staple in my skincare routine – love it!
