Whiskey Sour

Do you like my new Whiskey dispenser?

It’s quite efficient actually, just turn the handle 90 degrees. And turn again 90 degrees to lock. Now onto the sour.

Lots and lots of fresh lemon juice. Please do not use lemonade.

These are simply the best cocktail syrups I’ve found recently. By Royal Rose. ‘Handmade’, ‘artisanal’, ‘blah’ ‘blah’. Bottom line, it tastes fantastic. I highly suggest. My favorite is the lemon lavender syrup, it goes perfectly with this whiskey sour. A nice floral hint. So I cannot lie that whiskey is best consumed straight on ice. Nice to change it up sometimes, you know, take it slow. Tomorrow is Monday after all.

Don’t forget to add a little whiskey of course.

Cheers. Oh, and because some blogging experience has already taught me that someone is going to ask me where that weird dispenser is from, I’ve come prepared. Amazon, clearly..

I definitely plan on acquiring a few of these syrups..there has been far to many occurrences where I feel like the worst hostess in the galaxy and it is very important that I redeem myself
Separatory funnels!
Use those every day in the lab. :p
time to bring some home…
Yeah everybody who ever work in a chem lab will probably recognize those.

Hello, I just want to bring to your attention as a chemist. When you open the stopcock to dispense from a separation funnel, you would normally want to remove the stopper. It will probably go a lot faster and more smoothly. Otherwise another very enjoyable post!
Something nice to read on a monday afternoon
Yummmmmmmmm
oh, my favorite way to drink whiskey )
Definitely trying this out.

this is so fun. i was doing chemistry for my pharmaceuticals studies last week and we used that kind of dispencer for titration. nice idea to make new use of it.

Makes me miss Organic Chem lab…..NOT! lol
Very nice use of glassware!
What happened to luxirare! yawn
Absolutely beautiful. Can I ask what is the purpose of the dispenser? Does it offer a benefit over just using a jigger, or is it purely an aesthetic addition? Do you put the leftover whiskey back in the bottle, or does it live in the dispenser forevermore?
I am a chemist and I love this idea, we often get stuff like this sent to us, like a beaker which can also be used as a mug but this is an actual separating funnel being used for whiskey, genius. love. i might get this as a gift for a colleague xo
The separation funnel is usually used to separate liquids with different density. And when I used it in the lab we were required to apply some vaseline to the stopper before putting it in the stem. Really fun to use until your stopper doesn’t want to turn.
But overall really really like the idea of using lab glassware in the kitchen, makes me think of gastronomic chemistry. Besides working with whiskey is dangerous – flammable material with specific chemical effect on the body.
