i have heard that these were made to re-write history in some way, that (if you have the money) you can combine kings and queens that never could have met (I’m pretty sure that my English isn’t right…) in real…

Exactly, the detail that is put into the setting of the crystals, the shapes, it reminds me a bit or Rococco.
