Texas Toast

Simple texas toast breakfast by the computer while I start my morning. E-mail and my favorite blogs of course. Texas toast is one of my favorite things to pick up at the supermarket, it is very, what do you call it, ‘America’. And by the time I am done it will be hard to tell it was Texas Toast.

Things I will add to my… toast, eggs, prosciutto, mozzarella, kind of making a sandwich here with just one piece of bread.

Iced coffee!!

At the end just top with egg over easy, parmesan, and truffle oil. Cheese melted, add some chopped basil and prosciutto, and grate the parmesan over the egg. I am really finished with truffle oil I think, enough is enough, right? Things are always good in the beginning, and then you’re just..tired of it.

But…Champagne, I won’t ever get sick of this. I like to put this in the freezer for about 15-30 minutes before breaking it open, makes it so cold and crisp.




I think it would be a nice idea to have a champagne six-pack package, since these little bottles are small enough for that, almost like beer bottles. Thanks for reading, more soon.


Champagne, iced coffee & egg on toast …life can’t get better than that!
Your egg looks perfectly cooked. What tools and procedure do you use? I find it hard to keep the egg from spreading in a cooler pan, and hard to keep the whites from over cooking in a hotter pan…

Infinite Monkey Theorem in Denver, Co, is making some great wines with innovative packaging… their sparkling black muscat comes in 8 or 10 oz. cans and is so great for taking on a picnic. I think they’re also doing a rose or chardonnay in cans, which would also be fun picnic fare. His packaging is always great. Look ‘em up.

Are the eggs poached?
I noticed your iced coffee has regular water ice cubes. In the cafe where I worked, we would freeze the day’s end coffee into cube trays to put in our iced coffee the next day. That way when it melts, it doesn’t dilute the coffee, and you also have more, cold coffee at the end

I drink a lot of champagne, (if not champagne, then cava, procescco, etc) and I have never thought of chilling it in the freezer beforehand. Definitely going to try that. I love texas toast b/c its crispy on the outside and fluffy inside… I know this is a sin to say, but Dairy Queen actually has awesome texas toast.
