Snakewrap
I had about 4-5 snake skins that I was planning to make a jacket with, but I really didn’t want to anymore, I am exhausted from making jackets and I wanted to take these skins and make something a little lighter. I decided not to do too much to the snakeskin and use it’s natural properties, the best thing I could think of was to create some kind of raw looking belt but the snake was too flimsy for that….and then I decided to back it with white leather to give it some structure… without doing anything to the snakeskin- letting the organic/natural properties of the snake shine…It could have turned into an Obi style belt but then I decided I could use this wide belt concept and apply it to a dress…What I explained just now was exactly the thought process that went into my head- it all sounds very matter of fact and anti-climactic, but this is usually how I think of designs.
I am very confused by the weather right now. Some days I’m excited to wear a t-shirt and jeans and the next day I wake up and it’s snowing, or really cold. I’m ready for spring and I knew I’d start prepping my wardrobe with an arsenal of easy throw on a-line dresses.
Years and years of sewing (since I was 5-6 years old) and I still want to avoid invisible zippers!
My original idea was to create a very wide belt with the snakeskin just wrapped around, with white leather as backing..
The little clutch and the dress are both my designs, they’ll be in the shop soon and I’ll post more about the bag soon.

beautiful, as always.

I’m seriously in love with those clutch!!
Wonderful.
I really love the medical / apron look of this. the snake is a beautiful color. a perfect dress for the upcoming summer.
At first when I saw the dress, it didn’t connect and I thought the snakeskin was metal beading. This is totally innovative!
Gorgeous.
You really made it again. That is such a fine class little dress!
sexy shoulders!
Love your creations! Always inspiring!
xx
This is gorgeous. Completely, jaw-droppingly GORGEOUS.
This dress is unbelievably stunning. I hope this appears in the shop (and I hope I can afford it, hee). But it’s stunning. Seriously. So simple and artistic.
It looks amazing!!
both (clutch and dress) are very beautiful!
simple and elegant and edgy. awesome.
I absolutely love this dress (and i’m really glad you decided to leave out the snake head!!) I want to wear this to a wedding i’m going to in June. amazing job!
LOVE the dress. Can I ask what kind of fabric you used? How did you keep the a line body in the dress? Is it underlined?
so pure and natural clean and fresh.
I’m really hoping you did something with the snake head (especially since you have about 5 of them), they would make for a fierce addition to a jacket or clutch.
The rest is flawless as usual.
This is a very chic dress.
That dress is lovely and so clean.
I can’t agree more: invisible zippers are the DEVIL. (insert manaical laughter here)
What a fragile and bold dress, all in one, love it!
It’s beautiful.
Though I think a belt keeping the snakes head in would also be very interesting.
fun!
really brilliant.
That dress is perfection; just as the mock knit you did a while ago. I’d love to have both but I doubt that we are the same size.
That’s because invisible zippers suck! They’re so flimsy. For the life of me, I don’t understand why designers use them for clothes made of heavier fabrics seeing as how they can’t stand much wear and tear.
the first picture scared the hell of me! arg, snakes are my worst fear! but i really liked how your snakes turned into!
oh man this is so perfect. so clean & bright, the silhouette & white contrast perfectly with the snakeskin. amazing as always!
Luxirare! AMAZING.
I wish you could tell us about your life – like how you came to sew so well, where your inspiration comes from, where you learned all this amazing handiwork, etc.
ooo i love your dress !
great idea as always
It is beautiful ! Great dress, great clutch. I love the snake skin more that I can admit. Here in LA, I met people who found a rattlesnake in their home, killed it and skinned it (!!!). This dress makes me think of a warrior girl who would have skinned her own snake.
Lot of snakes going to be murder because of your beautiful dress : (
Excited to see more of that little clutch! The simplicity of the dress just blows me away; the snakeskin detail at the waist is a chic touch…
Love the dress. Did you put darts in it though? It has such great shape and fits your bust-line perfectly. Also, have you tried sewing the invisible zipper by hand (in the crack) and then going over with it your machine? You can do a basic stay stitch and then just cut it out. Some people do/don’t do this, I just pin it, but everyone I know stay stitches. I actually use the regular presser foot when I sew invisible zippers, I find it easier. Ironically I’m much better @ invisible than exposed or even lapped…strange. I’ve wanted to ask you where you buy your hardware from, meaning zippers, locks, etc…Hopefully you’ll get back to me…gfracasse@gmail.com
Gorgeous! You have such an eye for design.
I really like this one. How did you attach the snakeskin to the white leather? It looks glued on.
How did you adhere the snakeskin to the leather?
this is dress is absolutely stunning. modern yet timeless, detailed but simple, and sexy, but not overtly. love it.
I like!!! Love snakes!!!! ♥.♥
I visited your site first time, you really worked hard. Awesome content and best navigation. Superb collection, thumbs up!
Why don’t you hang up with all your beautiful skins…
