Setareh Mohtarez
I’ve seen a couple of these designs float around tumblrs..As it usually is with tumblrs, very rarely do you get to see who the designs are by, just a link from what blog they came. Setareh worked with an extremely simple galaxy/floral concept that I’m loving. **If you are going to use these images for your tumblr or blog, please CREDIT the designer…usually I don’t care who takes what but her name is not being fully credited on some websites I’ve seen that post her designs…so please be respectful and credit the hard work that went behind this collection!***

Oh thank god for this post. I’ve seen the first dress on tumblr numerous times with no credit or link to the designer. Thanks!

Wow. This is my first time seeing many of these and just…wow! Thanks.

I NEED THESE DRESSES!

Setareh is an Iranian name, it actually means ’star’ in farsi.
I wanted to point that out because of the – shall we say – galactic nature of the designs.

Wow I am entranced. And it’s as simple as that.
January 3rd, 2010 at 3:22 am
they remind me of the website that tells you how many people are in space right now.

Gorgeous designs! I love the idea of tumblr but I hate the lack of proper crediting on the site, especially since tumblr credits by default. Anyway, thank you for sharing these!
January 3rd, 2010 at 5:09 am
Stunning! I agree with your tumblr sentiments… I will unfollow someone if they start posting things without credit (and have no comment system that you can use).
FFFound is terrible in this way as well.

Those PRINTS!
ah..
the galaxy dress in the first image reminds me sooo much of an exaggerated Cristobal Balenciaga silk gazar dress.
i love that shape.
January 3rd, 2010 at 7:47 am
love the shapes and the bright, jewel colours
January 3rd, 2010 at 9:11 am
Wow, that is breathtaking. I love when designers use the universe as inspiration; especially literally with prints of stars and galaxies and nebulae. My favorite thing in the whole world, practically! As silly as it seems, prints and photos of the universe honestly make my heart flutter. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.
January 3rd, 2010 at 9:46 am
wow these images are purely amazing!!
January 3rd, 2010 at 10:07 am
Now THAT is innovative!
January 3rd, 2010 at 12:10 pm
phenomenal. i especially enjoyed the first one- what an amazingly artful dress! Setareh Mohtarez has done an incredible job; she’s obviously quite creative.

I love how structural these pieces are! And the fabric just takes them to the next level. Thanks so much for sharing.
Crediting work is so important. So many bloggers post images without identifying the designers and photographers. It’s great to share, but without proper credits we might as well not be sharing at all…

Whenever I look at a photo taken by a space telescope, I am immediately drawn in. I love the idea of making galaxy-inspired clothing; everything still looks organic, even though the photos weren’t taken on earth
These kinds of prints have definitely been trendy lately
The shapes the designer uses is just so perfect, too. These looks are great!

She’s my sister’s roommate here in Antwerp! So lovely of you to feature her and credit her properly!

Ah, your lucky sister Lumi! Hope they’re the same size so she can take advantage!
Galactic collection, thanks for sharing this one.

I think Tumblr, fffound, etc. are hard to pin down – on the one hand, many people (like myself) use it basically as a place to keep images that we find inspiring or beautiful, which is personal and not commercial at all. But for some, especially the handful of tumblr posters who are obviously ranking highly and passing many things along to millions, it seems they would realize credit may be due. For myself, I usually delete any caption from images simply because I like the clean tumblr aesthetic of only images – but I post a link to the artist/creator/blog where I found it 99.9% of the time.
As for the images above, very lovely.

Very very incredible. I wonder what went into the production of the fabric. The print, colours, material stiffness and the construction.

These are indeed brilliant designs. But when you have them, how frequent will you be able to wear them in your lifetime? i hope they won’t cost much, so they’ll be an honorable member in my closet.

Women need to be well aware of their figure type in order to dress appropriately and aesthetically. Every woman tends to have some positives and negatives about their body.
