How did you get your flash to create that vignette? My flash usually spreads through out the room. Did you have your house lights turned off?
There is a “light” distance control, the higher the number, the farther the light goes out into your subject. The lower the number, the closer the flash is to you. So whatever is closest to you becomes the brightest. In this situation, the number was set high, so the light went farther out, highlighting the mid portion of the image.

Artificial lighting is so complex! I’m trying to learn myself, and it seems terribly counter intuitive at times. Oh well! This looks nice to me.
