Park Hyatt Paris, Breakfast

There was nobody here, by 9 this place is packed, even difficult to be seated. Thankfully I was down here by 6:30 am. I love when things are not quite ready and waiters are still hustling to get the tables fixed and the buffet prepared. Quiet whispers between co-workers and what they did yesterday were simmering down.

Breakfast buffet sits under a fractured half-dome rendered in mirrors.

The half-dome was unique but the presentation at this buffet could use a little sprucing up. Too typical.

Demi Buffet could also use some variety, maybe some congee… kimchi…caviar…chicken fingers..pizza rolls…krispy kreme donuts…pigs in blankets.. just kidding..maybe not. The mini baguettes on the other hand, were amazing. Intense flavor and very chewy. The crust was almost impenetrable, almost. I thought the card labels were excessive though.

In a vague attempt to be healthy I ordered a fruit smoothie. This was a very thick mixture of freshly grated fruits (mostly dark berries) and I could smell a banana in there as well & I liked the presentation.

Baby orchids adorn every table, just lovely.

The baguette was the best thing on the plate.

This plate below just made me sad for Italy. This was not the prosciutto I had in italy….But still good.

Delicious mangoes and grapefruit..

Despite the mediocre buffet and presentation, the food on the menu is classic and delicious. They also give you a complimentary truffle slice with the benedict, fine by me. The Hollandaise sauce also tasted freshly made, not sitting on the burner for hours.

Also complimentary, a side of sausages in a mini cocotte.

More soon….

Ah, hotel buffet breakfasts, an alternating love/what? relationship. I do appreciate the addition of a truffle slice on your benedict. It’s the little things, no?
i love the honesty and the fact that you get there at 630am.
Looks like a lovely way to start the day!x
why is everything you photograph so amazing?
p.s au revoir Carine Roitfeld …http://foxandgun.blogspot.com
Immaculate presentation – both food and design-wise in this restaurant. What an aesthetically pleasing place to take a meal. I think I’d be gobbling everything in sight if I had the privilege of sitting down at this buffet…Is that a truffle-topped version of eggs benedict? Looks fantastic!
truffles at a buffet? oh mah gahhh
OMG no fair. This looks amazing. Eggs Benedict is my favorite way to eat eggs, but i’ve never eaten it on toast. Beautiful space. Thanks for sharing!!
i love your blog. your photos are amazing. what kind of camera do you use? xxxx
It looks so delicious!!!
I always love those shots where you cut into the egg and all the yummy yolk runs out
I cannot believe you woke up at 6:30 for breakfast though, I have issues waking up on time when I’m sleeping in hotels.
The sausages are just so cute that it must be difficult to eat them.
How do you manage to eat everything???
your blog always makes me hungry from staring at the screen!
missing your super intricate blogging. Your best. Make it all from the scratch whatever that is , which set Luxirare apart from any other bloggers.
wish i were there. i’m a big cheese, egg and truffle fan so no problems for me as long as i get all those.
Well,I might as well go there while I’m still in London.
Merry Christmas !

Awesome pictures. I just stumbled upon this and I am remembered of this buffet I had Summer of 2012. Best breakfast ever!
