Lobster Roll Redux

Do you like Lobster Rolls? Yes…? So do I. But today I am only here to use up leftovers.
A bunch of green needs to be pulled out because I’ll forget and then a week later they will turn brown.

I believe there are a million and one ways to make filling for a lobster roll. At Red Hook lobster pound, I feel like it’s 99% lobster, which is great. But you know I told you I need to use these greens before I lose my cool. So here I use cilantro, scallion, and watercress, just some of my favorites. Mix with Yuzu and kewpie mayo. The combination is quite tasty. This is more like a lobster salad filling of sorts. But if your preference is to have a roll be 99% lobster, you can ignore the greens in this post.

And here we have bread (unsliced), cucumber shavings, and the roll mixture.

Lobster roll, here it is! Lobster mixture wrapped in a slice of white bread, and wrapped with a thin sheet of cucumber.

I am trying these new drinks and initially I was attracted to this banana juice but then I got the grapefruit too because it’s one of my favorite juice flavors. Ironically I like the Banana juice better even though it sounded totally weird. I like the packaging too, that’s the real reason I bought it. But thank god it tastes delicious.

Butter sauce with yuzu on the side.

If you feel the urge just garnish with Ikura. (Salmon Eggs).

Dip it in butter.

Holy good God.
exactly what kat said!
I just had my teeth plucked out for braces but you’re still making me lust after these! Love it every time you simplify things and they’re still so amazing <3
this looks so ridiculously delicious!!!

This is definitely one of the most unique takes on a roll I’ve seen on a while. I’m fascinated by this bread idea.
Every time there is a relatively long pause between your blogs I know something very special is coming up. And if I have the chance, I stock your blog every hour!! And HERE IT IS!!!!! Love it. When I make this my husband will personally write a “Thank You” note. So sophisticated, yet ridiculously simple( for me the hardest part is going to be the cucumber shavings). Any tips?
Oh wow this looks and sounds absolutely divine!
I love what you did with the cucumber but how did you do that?
Very clever take on the lobster roll! Photos are lovely as well!
My jaw just hit the floor.
A simple request: please, an Oktoberfest recipe for your next redux? Sausages, soft, buttery pretzels, kraut, etc. Except in appetizer/small bites form for easy entertaining?
I always leave this blog hungry.
omg omg omg omg
OMG. This looks delicious. And delicate. Hard to do with a lobster roll recipe.
Nice!
Amazeballs. Love the butter dip…
How do you slice the cucumber like that?
Wow. Those might be the prettiest sandwiches I’ve ever seen. So cool what you did with the cucumber. We just had lobster this week too … lobster pot pie … it was really good but not nearly as glamorous as this!

Omg that looks delicious. Im not a big fan of seafood, but that is something I would definitely try
God – I want this in my belly right now! Loving that you did it pinwheel sandwich-style…
ah, so beautiful.
Kind of disappointed. Thought you were going to make a sandwich, not sushi or whatever…
Hence lobster “roll.”
She literally rolled it up, instead of making a traditional lobster roll sandwich. It’s kind of clever, really…
I didn’t see any rice ¯\(º_º)/¯
So good! How did you get those cucumber shavings?
What a different take on the humble lobster roll! That looks really yummy, but why are you wearing gloves?
I just… I can’t.. How do you.. I…
^ That’s me after reading any of your food posts.
Rendered speechless by the luxirareness (can we make this a legit word?) of it all.
ohemjee. YUMSSSSSSSS!!!
what the what! i happen to be visiting boston right now and even before i’ve had my first lobster roll you’ve already set the bar so freakin’ high.. argh!
Looks good but I think that generic white bread ruins it for me; the rest of the ingredients are so delicious and refined that it feels wrong not to use a fresh sub or crusty baguette. Nice take on it, though!
I am sincerely amazed by this roll. I know I’m too lazy to make it myself. Perhaps I’ll direct one of my more ambitious friends to your site, then invite myself over.
I can’t stop thinking about how yummy that roll must be. That. And where do you find a mini shopping cart?
Yummi yumyum !!
That looks down right tasty!
Oh my! I’m so hungry right now!
looks delicious and we love lobster i am going to have to try this
