Isabel Toledo
This looks like satin with wood grain printed on but I’m not the best when it comes to deciphering fabrics from pictures. I love the turned out seams and the raw finishing here, and the construction looks beyond impeccable. Scanned from Isabel Toledo: Fashion from the Inside Out by Valerie Steele and Patricia Mears.

Isabel Toledo, the designer herself. I think her husband Ruben Toledo painted those eyes on her. Amazing.

Ah, Isabel Toledo, until recently, often unsung American designer. I’m so glad you posted about her. I hate reading fashion critics pan American designers, as they overlook Toledo, Threeasfour/Asfour, doo.ri and the like.
looks like raw silk, the paint seems to have picked up the texture of the silk adding to the graininess perhaps. Maybe?
I met her once, THE nicest woman I have ever met.
