This Blue Planet episode of “the deep” is pretty beautiful, I love watching planet earth and deep ocean documentaries. Its available for immediate view on Netflix. I wonder how these creatures can be used for inspiration clothing wise… It explores fish way below the oceans’ surface where there is NO sunlight so everything is black. All these creatures are REAL which is surprising because they look like space aliens or animals from the future. Most of the fish are transparent and really beautiful..in a creepy way of course. They all have these weird LED lights streaming from their bodies, there was one creature that actually had LED antennas stuck onto their heads, like a cellphone or something. The narrator says that survival in the deep ocean is all about seeing but not being seen which means that they need to see their prey in order to eat and survive, but they also need to remain invisible in front of their enemies, I thought it was kind of interesting..”seeing but not being seen” reminds me of the internet world. Do watch it if you have time!

  16. Oh my goodness. Deep-sea biology is one of the most amazing fields ever, and one filled with so many questions, so much mystery. It looks so foreign but it’s a part of our own world, this little blue ball that spins round the depths of space; it’s one of the few places humans can’t access directly, since the pressures are too great; all we can do is get these tiny snippets from robots we design going down there.

I would *love* to see what sort of design ideas you get from these.
