Graham Ave Meats & Deli
Encountered a fantastic sandwich, you know the greasy italian kind. Get ready for some rather imprudent photos.
They take credit cards. Cash poor so I’m happy about that.
Was told to get the Willie Special, Spicy mild or sweet. Spicy! Also picked up one Buffalo Chicken.
“WS” for “Wille Special”.
I avoid carbs like it’s nobody’s business but today I am not. Layers of italian cold cuts, (look at how thin that tomato is, just perfect) and vinegar + oil soaked bread means I’m probably going for a 2-hour long walk tonight.
So I ordered spicy but this is not spicy, but it’s not their fault because I am Korean and used to a different level of heat. All good. There are hot peppers in here though. Mostly meat, which is fine by me.
The real work of art at this dilapidated sandwich shop is not the Willie Special as everyone says. It’s the Buffalo chicken. This was actually spicy. And warm. Bread is soaked in hot sauce and butter, chicken and cheese is heated and there are lots of tangy green peppers and jalapenos.
You know the photo below, it’s just that kind of messy sandwich you really shouldn’t order on a date. Thank god I wasn’t on one! And even after 20 napkins you still have that annoying oily stench left on your hands.

My arteries clogged just looking at these photos, lol! With that being said… I will definitely have to try one of these (or maybe both).
This remind me a “Tortas” Mexican food… =o) they have a black beans? looks delicious!
“Greasy Italian kind”? Italian food is never greasy! These sandwiches look tasty though

I lived in this neighborhood for two years.
I thought ordering that kinda thing on a date was how one quickly weeds out those worth another? I did get married 10 years ago at 23 (very young where I live), so I guess it worked for me.
That looks incredibly tasty, but I have serious doubts about my ability to get through the first sammich, not to mention the buffalo chicken thing. US portions blew my mind while I was there and they still do.
Want to go back eventually, regardless. I miss the toilet cover thingies!

i LOVE sandwiches soooo much! they are my favorite food. but luxirare! can you please do a post on what low carb foods you eat. and when you eat in a typical day? i am low carb right now too and will be for a long time. it would be interesting to see
