[...] could I overlook these? Party-ready mirrored Giuseppe Zanotti boots (modified by Luxirare) can be yours for the low price of $3840. Hey, it’s cheaper than [...]
[...] thank u [...]
I think this is actually my favourite of your outfits. LOVE those shoes with the gloves, and it all just goes so well together ><
Thanks Alise!
i approve
ahhh, sigh of relief…
oh my goodness. Those boots. I think I’ll sell my sister for them.
Truly my favorite apocalyptic goddess get up that you’ve put together in a while. Boob coat madness with standing.
Sort of look like a statue that belongs in a MOMA or something. yep. its a good thing you cover that face of yours, otherwise I’d figure out wear you live and ROB YOU!!!
rachel zoe would probably tell you that you’re shutting it down.
ok. enough gushing. I sound retarded.
I think “I die” if Rachel Zoe actually tells me I am “shutting it down”. But actually I’m more concerned with what Tay Tay thinks…Shes my fave.
where*
I almost get a glam rock/70′s/Bianca Jagger feel from the boots. LOVE.
the color of that top is amazing.
this is an awesome outfit. it’s so luxe.
This one is so visually appealing!!! I love how you did the photography of you shadowing the sketch…..brilliant!
I expect you to have a diy in a month, max
brilliantly put together as always.
please make me your protege!
curious – have you ever been shot in the streets by street style photographers?
I don’t think so? I try to blend in most of the time so I don’t think anyone would be interested in taking my picture.
I’m awestruck.
Absolutely A M A Z I N G ! ! !
LOVE your ‘Luxirare’ top! The colour is stunning!!! Would love to try making one!
xx
back to the black backdrop! wow, its a nice change..
i love your illustration style.. its loose but still has structure..
ps. when do we get to see a pair of luxirare shoes, i havent forgotten haha
love as always
wekilledcouture
Hi Madeleine! Hopefully soon!
Ridic boots, gloves, shirt… you always inspire me!!
ahhh, those are awesome, almost like pants.
You had them custom made by Zanotti? Heavens to betsy, you are just made of money aren’t you? Trust fund right? (I know it’s like so totally gauche to bring this up but fuck it) I’d envy you but there’s no point. You make really good use of it. I really fucking admire that you have the good taste, vision (what a vision it is too..) and skill to utilize your cash to make your vision into something real. This makes it so much less annoying than if…. you know…you just sat on your ass eating truffles and snorting coke all day.
sooo cool. the clean cut shapes of the mirror pieces and the way they fit together has a mechancial, robotic look that looks even cooler with such a loose, feminine top (the color of which is gorgeous). and then things get tough again with the black gloves
oh how i wish i owned this outfit. and all your outfits. thanks for sharing, luxirare!
sorry, just in case…that was a compliment, I hope I didn’t sound like a huge bitch or anything.
It’s alright, your comment was amusing, no offense taken.
Love the boots! How comfortable are they?
I’m going to make believe that my comments in the previous post was the inspiration for this top haha :}
I’m such a nitpicker (I love doing fittings!!) so I’m going to say that if the top was 1.5 to 2 inches longer it could fly as a great dress (although it is a great top too)…and I would make the back of the hem a little longer atleast by 1/2 to 1 inch so you get the ‘sag’ or weighty-ness in the back which I love.. Also not really into contrast top stitching on the cuff but love that its 3/4 sleeve.
Thanks for another great post !
The boots are surprisingly comfortable. Very walkable.
Amazing outfit! Everything is just amazing!
Gorgeous. I’m so completely blinded by the boots. They’re stunning. My favorite pic is the one with you and the design drawing next to you. Very cool
Sensual. Accessible. I like it a lot.
What a beautiful shade of blue! Overall stunning!
I want to be yoooou. No, but seriously can we be the same shoe size so I can at least live out my dreams of being Beyonces thighs and rocking those? So good. Brilliant as always <3
I’d love to see how you put that top together. Mostly so I could turn it into a dress (Thanks PAN for the idea!).
Also, beautiful post. As always.
My question is, how come Zanotti hasn’t asked _you_ to do a custom order for him?!
hahhaha its not exactly custom. You can buy it from the site, he didn’t actually design it for me!
Gorgeous, as always. I love your photoshopped-in sketch for comparison next to the real outfit — isn’t it fantastic when a beautiful plan comes together?
Amused by the “trust fund” comments; I’m sure you already, umm, *know* that you’re privileged to have the means to make your vision a reality, but with your level of creativity and skill, if I were your folks or your wealthy patron or whomever, I’d try keep you well supplied with whatever you wanted, too.
Oh, and I made your avocados. At least I tried. One version with lobster, and one version with (horrors) fake-chicken Quorn for some vegetarian guests. Not quite as pretty as yours, but decadent and delicious — and very lovely — all the same. We’re using the leftover avocado coating tonight to lend some spice to the filling for homemade potstickers.
Oh nice! It doesn’t have to be perfect all the time you know, as long as it tastes good.
Reminds me a little of Thakoon’s pieces from S/S10, I believe? I love them. Something special, but not garish.
I love the way you have combined your illustrations with the photos…I always feel a bit more connected to what i’m seeing if i’ve seen illustrations/ mood boards ect.. (not that it cant be appreiciated for what it is of course!)
visiting luisa via roma in person was such a treat!
I love the blue drape top paired with knee high mirrored boots. This is perfect, and slightly different from your usual outfits, I think it’s the color
It is slightly different! Only because I sometimes I like to quickly think up a design and be able to execute it. Sometimes my things take too much work. I also love bright solid colors, and wanted to divert from my usual black…
I love how you are able to conceive of an outfit and make it come to life. Amazing.
wow. i’m completely captivated
i love the blue! this outfit seems to be a bit of a departure from what i usually see here for some reason. it’s all good, i like it.
i really love the side by side of your sketch + you. it’s beautiful AND informative.
Yea all the readers seem to love the illustration combos which is why I am doing them more now..
I was just thinking to myself that thigh high boots have already become terribly cliche and certainly not worth the investment. But this post challenged that thought. This confirms what we often forget – that one can derive inspiration anywhere and make it original to self. Well done!
I’ve had similar thoughts as well. I just love the shattered mirror effect on the boots, its almost like my legs are broken/in pain…
Such an amazing combination.
I’m so in love with this blog. You’re so, I dunno, seems “amazing” is not enough a word.
that shade of blue is absolutely stunning! love the low back.
xx
The boots are great, not your average run of the mill thigh highs that are everywhere. Absolutely loving the tunic. What a great idea of overlap the photos with the sketches. The whole post gives me a very Lanvin feeling. If the tunic was pulled in a bit at the waist and draped to the floor I think it’d make a stunning gown.
Oh totally agree about Lanvin. He and McCardell share a lot of similar qualities, the tunic I made was actually inspired by McCardell so yea I could see where you make the connection. Alber Elbaz is my hero.
Loveeee it!!! Love the boots and the whole look together, the gloves go so well and it seems so effortless chic, and not over the top to go out with, simply stunning!
I sort of hate your fashion sense sometimes, and I think thats a good thing. I often hate things before I end up loving them; this has happened with mustard, onions, mushrooms, spinach, rare-cooked steak, coffee, wine, and countless good bands.
There are the things you do that I love, like the chain jacket, the ruffly pink long cardigan, the way you wear that Balenciaga coat with those neat fasteners on it, and the way you made that leather corset-boob-thing.
And then there are the neu-gothic things you do, like the Haider Ackermann outfit – which to me, looks like blah drapey black baggy overdone crap. And there is this, which I dislike the nails on the gloves and I think the mirrored boots look like something you could find at Goodwill and spiff up with some ugly plastic glass. All of this hatred within me just makes me think I will end up loving it a few months down the line. I haven’t yet developed the taste for the things you are up to right now. Including that Strange Eyes tumblr – I find it revoltingly rooted within tribal and patchworky themes, which are not on my radar right now.
Sort of hate my fashion sense too sometimes! But it doesn’t stop me from experimenting, even if I look back and think, whoa…what was I thinking?
So true about how you end up liking things you hate at first…Often thought this with bands.
beautiful!!

Holy shit. It’s as if Gaga literally took a page out of Luxirare’s book! She has the black goth chunk heels, monkey fur, that delicious indigo blue…????!!!!!! Wow
hahahha she looks way better though…WAYYYY better
Oh jesus,
I just read the comments from the entry before (someone even used “gauche” too).
I know you didn’t take offense but because I am super neurotic I just REALLY have to make sure
(in the way that an OCD just HAS to touch that mailbox five more times) and clarify about the “tone”. I have a trust fund as well (god I hate saying it). I’m just not really doing anything with it, when I could and really should be. It’s only for education related expenses, but that’s still a big deal.I could be doing amazing things with it. If I wasn’t so complacent, I could be developing, funding, and realizing my ideas to make something tangible. Any acidity was from my own feelings of inadequacy from not having anything to show for my privilige.
I must sound like a total straggler who wastes their time worrying about things that REALLY don’t matter…fantastic, just what I wanted
haha don’t worry. OCD is one of the main symptoms of our generation, that and Multiple Personality Disorder. I didn’t feel any acidity from your comment so don’t be so paranoid. I felt it was very genuine and funny. Besides, what kind of trust fund kid would you be if you didn’t have a tinge of acidity in you? Its not always a bad thing. I had a period of blase-nothingness too, but being productive makes me less depressed. Thanks for your comments Tippy (love your name BTW)
the back of that shirt is the sexiest thing i have ever seen. sweet baby J.
Very knightly indeed. And I totally wish I have a body as rockin as yours to pull off a low back. *sigh*
My body is far from “rockin” as you say, Clearly I lack in the T&A department……!
hmm there’s something quite unsettling about the blue…
its kind of like an attention battle between the blue and the mirrors…if that makes sense
anyways love the boots!
I love the cvobalt blue. Beautifully intense colour.
The soles on the Zanotti boots almost look like Louboutins!
I want those gloves!
I really enjoy the black backdrop here. I love the concept of the boots. I would have preferred to see the glass in bigger pieces though? Right now I’m working on a new diffusion collection for my jewellery label and it’s working title is “Shards”, so I guess the broken glass is particularly resonating with me.
I actually had to switch it up to black for this post because I wanted the purple/blue ish tone to pop out. On the white the color looked so dead. I dread black seamless because it is extremely hard to light
and shoot, the black never comes up black.
Great concept with your jewelry, I do love the broken glass effect..good luck with it!
this outfit seems sadomasochistic… the gloves insinuate scratching, the boots and your broken leg comment. maybe i’m reading too far into luxirare.. nevertheless, all impeccable.
You’re such a rockstar. The boots are insane, in a good way. I showed my boyfriend your blog at the weekend and now we are both hooked. Bx
hahah I get that sometimes, how these “boyfriends” look at my blog, I think it has to do with the food!
Hi Lux!!!
Magnificent, Hautain, Soberbio……. and it can go on….. on any language………
James…. i agree with you on the Sadomasochistic look or I dont know if its me that see SEX everywhere, anywhere…… hihihihihihi
LUX…. your broken leg comment, so deep…now i know that youre the complete combo: talented, greate taste, you have the skills and kind of Neo-Poet…
thnkx again….
xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
It’s almost boring when your posts are about the things you buy as opposed to the things you make. Your designs are usually more interesting. I hate how most fashion blogs have devolved into “Look what I bought today!” nonsense. There’s little insight and even less so when it comes to the creative aspects of fashion.
I’m usually not a fan of colour but your top makes me want to wear colour so much now!
Anyway you’re lovely and simply genius, like always
If only it’s for sale
Amazing boots, and they look fabulous with that vibrant blue!
hello there, ^^
I’m not sure where are you from but don’t know why, i always that think that you know something about korea.. i really love a girl group here called 2ne1 and their style! the stylist is called yang-geng (not sure his real name) but i saw this crushed mirror before that he did for G-Dragon’s and 2ne1′s outfit. (You can see it in G Dragon’s Heartbreaker mv)
I admire your brilliant innovation and not afraid to try anything you like! I love every single details on your works. Btw, sorry for my english and wish you all the best!
You are so intense! I love it!
those boot those gloves those boots those gloves those boots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the rest ain’t bad, either!
what a talent you have, not just clothing design and construction, and culinary creativity, but the layout and photos, too. your blog is a breath of fresh air. LOVE it.
I think that the boots are gorgeous – you have excellent taste (though you have proved that already!)
Although i must say that royal blue is one of my least favourite colours – I am not sure why i have to avoid it so much – in my styling or designs! Are there any colours like that for you?
hmmm..come to think of it…no? I know colors for me in general are hard to use though. I like neutrals/greys/blacks….
your illustrations are amazing, i would love to see more
you look so chic and clean cut! a bit of a departure from the deconstructed/constructed luxi i drool over. rad nonetheless! i feel like at this level now, there’s nothing much that sets big name designers apart from you. you come up with just as brilliant stuff!
one more thing…do you use a remote, self timer or do you have a photographer for your “studio” shots? i always thought you used a remote until i realized that you never seem to have one in your hand
I like the ones of photos of you superimposed over the drawings!
Also, those boots are the best
So badass.
gaga ould approve.
this is my favorite post of yours, and i love ALL your posts. those shoes. i’m going to sew mirrors onto my thigh high boots now. brb.
i am obsessed with thigh high boots, i own too many of them. they’re my fav items.
but hey, bottom line, i love those. giuseppe zanotti is not my fav designer, but i do
LOVE those boots. looks great with that dress. that dress reminds me of these ankle
boots i liked, because of the color. http://www.theoutnet.com/product/33806
ya nkow.
Luxi are you a smoker and if so how do you keep your clothes from being stinky
Your comment section is as entertaining as your posts.
Your brilliance is undeniable. Obviously, many people are jealous of your seemingly unlimited budget. The options one is presented with when one does not have to worry about affording food and how the hell they’re going to make rent are unbelievable. Of course, high fashion is more well made and is an investment; but some of your readers seem to be really jealous towards you (I have to admit, I wish I had your budget). I would be very curious to see your creations on a limited budget. There is no doubt you are talented and inspiring, I think you would be in any price point. Any chance of doing a budget Luxirare post and showing that creative brilliance isn’t limited to super high-end materials? It may give those that really feel the sting of the economy some hope in being creative once again.
HEY, LUXIRARE
DO YOU MIND IF I ASK YOU WHERE DO YOU BUY YOUR FABRICS?
LOVE THAT WASHED SILK YOU USED ON YOUR PREVIOUS POST.
WILL WE BE SEEING SOON A CHRISTMAS DINNER? THAT WILL BE GREAT AND INSPIRATIONAL?
PHOTOGRAPH YOUR DOG! MISS SEEING HER.
ARE YOU MARRIED?
Rc.
I get my fabrics in the garment district in NYC, No, I’m not married.. and yes there is a possibility of an xmas/food related post.
Your all caps comment compelled me to respond.
THOSE BOOTS
Very Icy and sparkly! I would actually wear this whole outfit you have used my favourite colour <3
Funny, but I just read Jenni’s comment, and I do agree. So far, I’ve seen you bust down a lot of very fancy work, great work that I just love, with materials I could only dream of purchasing, never mind the shoes. (Drool) So, taking Jenni’s side, and I really mean no offense, how would Luxirare make something chic and spectacular on a limited budget. Maybe you can even take it as a request, or a project. Possibly even with set things to work with.
LOL @ Rafelina, “are you married.” For some reason, I highly doubt it ! On my end, I bet your single, simply because you love your dog to pieces and enjoy the freedom that being single brings. But then again, maybe I’m a loser, but you tend to set the holiday dishes for two- like this Thanksgiving . . . Oooooh, I think our lovely Luxi has a boyfrienddddd (singsongy voice).
I’m making it look like you have no other kind of life. Lol. I’m pretty sure your life definitely does not revolve around the computer !
<3 Kenita
I’m speechless!
Learn something new everyday…. had no idea custom made Zanotti even existed… the drape on the top is superb…!
I very love this style, it’s my fav !
I really would like to know what goes through your mind…everything you do is breath taking. I am really curious about you as a person, you are obviously not a stereotype. Out of the millions of blogs, street style and people i have seen you are by far the one that has schocked me the most and i am not easy to impress. Congratulations.
NL.
What goes through my mind? Well, I always keep you guys in mind whilst creating…wondering how to please both myself and your fickle tastes/judgements…It’s always the collaboration between the performer and audience that makes an idea come to life.
Your work is so inspiring! Makes me take time out of my day to do something creative. Keep up the fabulous work!
PS is that YOUR eye used for the new image feed button?
TOO CLEVER
One of your best posts, I think! I love the shade of blue. So vibrant!
I thought the boots were fantastic, and that electric blue was great, but wasn’t completely sold on the design until the picture of the back, then I wanted to rip it off you and wear it myself
Well then I’m glad I scooped out that back!!
I just really wanted to say how lovely your photographs are. (: and these boots are gorgeous!
Thanks for dropping in Valeria!
absolutely wonderful. those boots are just too perfect.
yes yes yes
RAD, girl.
Mindblowing… The boots are certainly great. The top is superb. I have been reading your blog for sometime and I am amazed at your skill and style (and patience). They remind me of MMM.
ahhh no where near MMM but thanks for your comment!
The open back on the shirt is so hot and unexpected. Love the touch of pink on the boots too.
http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/_/38746461/Lady+GaGa+Gaga.png
Theres that margiela on lovely gaga, its so true she takes from luxirarrr
highly doubt it but I am definitely amazed shes wearing that awesome jacket.
those boots are unreal.
i think i’m in love

I really like how that draping behaves on those images where your side is towards the camera and you are slightly bending forward – the body contours are gently drawn visible from the folds of the fabric. Beautiful! I also love the combination, very cool context for those nail gloves.
U’ve done it again, Luxi! The black background does get the electric blue to pop. The boots are insane; very bold fashion statement without being overboard. Good work! I would definitely NOT want to be caught in the dead of winter in that thing, though. Not without a few coats!!!
Also, if we type in all caps, does that mean you respond?
Looking forward to the Christmas post!!!
I was just wondering how do you that drape?
I am trying to learn more about draping my my past attempts have turned into hours of screaming at my sewing machine and weeks of holding a grudge against it ( Hyperbole well lets all hope )
Also do you cut your own patterns or use ready made or alter them or all of the above?
I usually drape my own from scratch. Ready made patterns are ill fitting for me.
ahh, now if only I can pull of this look. Your gloves are a delicious match to the outfit, and the mirrors on your boots have inspired me to pursue a new DIY project =D
i love that response you’ve made about creation being a combination of both author and audience, i’m sure Barthes and Foucault would approve. As do i!
Well, as we all know now you’re highly skilled in fashion and food, does it stretch further? To writing perhaps? But then maybe i might be too scared to find out, for my own sense of accomplishment/ability.
Regardless Luxirare, you are wicked sick. And i know one is never comfortable with photos of their own face, but it would be nice to see yours more often! You know, make it even more personal.
hi!. I love everything you do. Keep doing it. I wrote a little bit about you in my blog,
hope you like it.
http://thecitylovesyou.com/fashion/?p=7715
I love the fact that you actually respond to comments. It keeps me coming back for more.
You really do amaze me. Do you ever sell your work?
Beyonce rocked the shit out of these boots in her Video Phone video… Have you seen it? I’m going to do a post on it today
YOU my dear, are rocking them pretty hard as well. Your style and attention to detail is mesmerizing.
<3
I like reading the comments more than your blog entries sometimes.. They are so amusing!
I was reading the exchange of comments between Tippy (great name) and you, and thought:
“This girl has not only money but also has his feet on the ground, a great talent and seems to have no ambition or greed or out of being recognized everywhere”
how amazing is this?
I must admit, sometimes I doubt that you are human…
just want to say I agree with Alise… LOVE the boots and the styling of the outfit is my favorite. Think the chain jacket with the ysl cage shoes are second, mostly because I didnt really like the shaping of the “breasts”.. too… not sure. Not sensual maybe. Anyway, point is, I think you are sooo creative and want to say keep up the wonderful work (!!) and that I really really love this outfit. Have only followed your blog for about 5 months but even in so short a time I’m amazed to see your development and inspiring work!!!
Have a wonderful christmas
You’ve probably already seen these but if not, they reminded me of you.
http://www.yatzer.com/feed_2043_the_footwear_concepts_of_andreia_chaves
I think you are the sweetest blogger ever, after reading your reply for all the comments people left you!
I did jealously thought you must had so much money your parents left you. But since you took critique with such a sweet gesture, you got the biggest heart ever!
sisimae
I just died and went to blog heaven…aka your site. I can’t believe I hadn’t discovered your blog til today! Your style and photography is cutting edge, clean lines, modern, simply amazing. I would kill for those boots!
I just had a question – do you wear these clothes out on the street, or just for pictures that you put up on here?
Amazing. I look forward to reading your blog…ALL THE TIME!
Im in awe with every click… I had to lift my jaw to type <3 BRILLIANT
I love the concept and product!! Would definitely wear these in public!
great post as usual!
I read your post religiously and never have posted before, but I adore this outfit. The simple cut and colour of this dress would flatter any figure and those boots are absolutely killer. I covet every single piece of clothing you make.
O MY. Great post! J’aime!
Really the article is spreading its wings rapidly…
Such an AHH-mazing blog site! It inspires the mind and fuels the passion.
How hard is it to make your own boots. I would love to make a pair similar: sky (thigh) high and dangerous, but flat instead of that fabulous heel! The snow that this town gets does not permit such chicness.
Share your secrets!!
