agggh epic outfit as always!! those shoes are just friggin siiiiick and they look like they’d be so comfortable! i’ve gotten some good vintage bags from edith, though I’d never be able to buy vintage gloves with my monster sized hands lol.
yeah kunjip’s kimchi jiggae is so good! aggh. and the free gaelanjjim just kills me. free only makes things taste that much better

spooky. wonderful. love it.
May 3rd, 2009 at 1:13 am
Sweet boots! I love the blurred photography too.
May 3rd, 2009 at 3:04 am
I love that even though you used this A.Wang sweater with those exquisite masks before, this shoot is a fresh take of it.
The animal skin just works with the carnal landscape and the dynamic movements.

This is really amazing. I love how it’s shot. Who takes your photos? I love how you look like a cloud of smoke, there one moment, gone in the next…well done.

i mean, fur coats are cool, but having a dead fox’s head around your neck is kind of gross.
May 3rd, 2009 at 11:55 am
oh my god, oh my god, oh my god- speechless. completely. blown away. oh my god.
May 3rd, 2009 at 12:10 pm
Amazing! Love those Alaia boots. They are def killer.

Really crazy coincidence—this Thursday my friend Joshua did photographs of Christina and I at a very very similar looking rocky waterfront in Williamsburg dressed as ghosts!!!! What are the chances? I don’t know how his photos turned out but he took a couple on my camera and I’m going to post them later. So funny.

Loving this spread. Where did you shoot these?
May 3rd, 2009 at 2:13 pm
I’m love fur. I think you either get it or you don’t. My friend saw a silver fox tail i had attached to my purse and raised an eyebrow. Later that evening she sat in my living and after spotting the rabbit pelt on the arm of the coach said, “What is the deal with you and all the fur?!” Awesome post. That purse is killing me softly.

Love this–last night I was watching vintage X-files, and just happened to watch the episode that was an homage to Frankenstein movies shot all in black and white in kind of a surreal little town and lots of creepy circus music–somehow, your shoot reminds me if this…I mean that as a compliment. judy

Gorgeous, interesting photography. But that fox pelt… I’m not insulting the look itself, just the fact that an innocent fox died so you could wear it around your neck. It baffles me that anyone could find the look of a dead animal worn around one’s neck anything other than grotesque and wrong. I just thought I would be the one to say it.

this is perfection
those boots are perfection. i love wedges and i love thigh high boots so those are like my dream boots.
May 3rd, 2009 at 4:00 pm
oh my, these photos are gorgeous! i love the delayed shutter ones. love the alex wang sweater and those boots!
May 3rd, 2009 at 6:22 pm
Although I love fur just as much as the next girl, I don’t think I could ever wear one with it’s face still intact. Love the sweater and boots though!
May 3rd, 2009 at 9:26 pm
I’ve worn a pelt like that as part of a Halloween costume (I think Megan’s done that before too) and people just can’t get down with the whole attached head thing. Even as a joke. Even people who wear fur and leather are totally appalled. The death isn’t sanitized enough for them I guess, they have to think about the actual animal. No one cares about your suede boots because they don’t resemble a cow.

Ohh mann! What season are those Alaia thigh highs? They remind me of the A/W 2006 Balenciaga boots that I totally snoozed on! I love ittt!
May 4th, 2009 at 2:35 am
These are really awesome shots!!! I can’t believe I didn’t stumble across your blog earlier! Your food posts are simply devine!!!

Babystrange–
The Alaia’s are actually from early 2007, maybe late 2006? Got them a while ago and there are a bunch of stains on them. Ugh.
Cindy–
Thanks! I’m getting the feeling that people enjoy the fashion posts more though.

Natalie-
Glad to hear it-I’m afraid the live lobster is most likely out of season but I would definitely ask I’m not 100% sure. Good to hear from you.
May 4th, 2009 at 11:49 am
jesus. . . everything was going crazy already and then you added the pierre Hardy bag!! I’m speechless. best outfit post ever.
May 4th, 2009 at 12:21 pm
beautiful photos – obviously I enjoy ghosts.
May 4th, 2009 at 12:35 pm
First off..YES!!! Finally, someone else who loves full body animal pelts! I’m yearning for a skunk pelt myself.
BTW, this whole shoot is absolutely fantastic.
May 4th, 2009 at 3:32 pm
This post is so good on so many levels, especially the pelt because it’s like a good metaphorical middle finger to anyone who has tried to emulate this style, but fails because it’s just too “lite”. Anyways, always a fan of your posts!
PS I cooked the black cod!! It was sooo good!!
May 4th, 2009 at 7:25 pm
GORGEOUS….seriously is there anything that you cant do fantastically well?
May 4th, 2009 at 8:04 pm
