Eye Clutch
The stingray I used for this clutch had this center white mark, which kind of reminded me of an eye, I decided to play off that and use it as inspiration for this bag…
Some materials, studs, inspiration images..

I focused more on shape for this bag, wanted something ovular to play off the naturally eye-like mark at the center of the stingray.

This is the close-up shot of the gusset side of the bag, I used suede for this portion and studded it to mimic the texture of the stingray, which reminds me caviar scraped flat onto a surface.

Lining is one of my favorite parts of bags, I like lighter colors that pop.

If I had a personal outfit/style blog it would be repetitive and boring, not that my blog is entertaining now but I wear the same thing everyday which is a variation of this outfit, black long sleeved shirts from target, jeans, and a black blazer.

The ring somehow works with the look of the bag…

Someone asked if the balls in this ring move around, they do. It makes a rattle noise every time.

For the dust bag I wanted to use fishnet + organza combination.

Brilliant, blown away once again, the detailing…..at a loss for words, just brilliant
you are a genius
It looks incredible! Great job. x
breathtaking as always.
And honestly if this was a style blog – it could never be boring
‘you are far too inspirational.
Cheers,

I loved it when the photos showed how things were made–any chance we can get some more of those?
stunning
Your a muse. Your blog is more than entertaining; it’s inspiration. It triggers my curiosity and you inspire to create. I am speechless? How can I even describe you?
I’m stuck on just thinking, how did you sew sting ray? You are, I can’t even describe it!
It resembles more something borne of the sea, to me, than inhabiting a face.
The round studs on the bottom are sea foam, and they bubble around and caress the surface of the being, clinging even as it is lifted from the water.
You are mystical, Luxirare.
Want to touch. As if sting ray isn’t fun enough, you stud that thing out to rockstar status. I can’t wait to walk down the street with all your rattling near me, haha. I’m still praying for a camera bag design, stop torturing my soul with little baby bags I must stop lusting for.
<3
I think I’ve never commented here though I read everything you post, but I have to now; this bag is my favourite thing you have ever post in here! The design is amazing, the studs+texture of the skin look armonic, the dangling studs in the side are a perfect addition…I didn’t quite like the idea of the stingray hide, but at least it was used for an great piece of fashion/art
congratulations and keep the work, I look forward to your posts every week!
Perfection.
The studding on the stingray is incredible and inspired. I appreciate seeing the thought process behind this creation.
you never cease to amaze me! i’ve been reading forever, keep it up!
where did you get the dangling spikes wholesale, btw?
Absolutely amazing. I love it. You are so talented.
that is a crazy ass bag right there
i cant take my eyes off it
stunning work
oh wow.. this is so beautiful!
the texture looks wonderful–i just want to touch it
Lovvve the zipper pull.
This is clumsy design
a bit of a miss in my opinion
Hahahaha Charlotte how is it clumsy? Jealousy is ugly. This is one of the most beautiful bags I’ve ever seen. Looks more like a sea creature than an eye. Wonderful.
You are unbelievable. You know how people always tell you “you can do anything if you set your mind to it” ? well…you prove that’s true. With a bit of talent thrown in, to say the least!
I agree–bit of a miss. I don’t like the new direction with the inspiration photos and even some of the final presentation photos… It looks cheap and poorly presented… not luxurious at all.
in awe of your talent, as always.
xxx
t
yes, every time i see your updates i gasp in awe!
i love those details you’ve worked on, you did it again miss…
that is a great moodboard, turning all the mood into the design.
Very interesting <3
Fantastic use of stingray! That dustbag it’s a piece of it’s own. Love
you are amazing.

You have amazing talent, I love this!
Will you selling it?
Pray do tell if it will be retailing, and for how much!
Thank you (:
p.s. your blog would NEVER be boring.
Miss the old style of photography, but this bag is definitely NOT a miss. Love it, esp the zip pull detail…
@ au courant – I will go back and forth between the old style and this one-sometimes the black can be oppressive but its good fro making textures and colors stand out , thanks for the comment!
this was yet another beautifully shot, beautifully designed, perfect post, and i have read every one.
I really LOVE this bag. It’s design is amazing. Seriously. Where can I get one?
xx Love & Aloha
Wow! Chrome caviar (or large tobiko)… All dressed in black, you are the Johnny Cash of the fashionistas!
You did such a great job with the clutch. It’s actually a lot bigger than I imagined from the first few photos! I love that you lined it with a buttery leather on the inside. So thoughtful as always!
i nearly had a heart attack when i saw this. so beautiful, as always!
I like how you used the studs here – the arrangement is very organic and echoes the stingray texture. Plus that pull tag is beautiful addition. The sea creature vibes are strong for me, too – maybe the material just pulls back to its origins!
Thought that I’m bit tired of seeing anything studded… …but I just changed my mind again.
too many studs?
Very well-made as always. To be perfectly honest, this is not my favorite creation of yours. I see you in it, I see the concepts behind the ideas, but somehow this doesn’t work for me – it may be the first time that a project of yours hasn’t totally blown me away, design-wise. I think it’s maybe the sort of 80′s aesthetic? Or perhaps that the white shape in the center of stingray skins has always bothered me, and so a design based up the shape was bound not to sit well. Either way, I applaud the effort, and if I ever figure out something for my own stingray project, I’ll be sure to post it here.

@ Persephone, Thanks for the comment, I appreciate your honesty & feedback-
I love it, in its strangeness… Like something a bit surrealist and also because it reminds me some kind of sea creature, a coral or another deep sea creature… really extremely dreamy!
Beautiful! love the subtil contrast of the studding and the luxurious sting ray!

What can I say except WOW. You’re really talentuous. Always delightful to see your work.
Genius. Fantastic vision, use AND outcome. :]
Are you planning on selling it? DEFINITELY interested!
Wow, that’s stunning! Totally genius. I love the details, just amazing.
lovely, but……… why the gloves? do you really wear all that in summer?
I love it–always love what you are doing with your photography too!
Marvelous marvelous marvelous.
I love you.
I love this!! Gorgeous!!!
xoxo
Beautiful and stunning. Wow!
As usual, I’m blown away. Your vision for the pieces you make really inspires me. (and the light lining is a really cool touch, I agree)
In Class, En Vogue
So awesome. It looks alive!
i love that you chose to create a dustbag to fit the aesthetic of the purse!
o.m.g. sooooooooo pretty. my favorite part is the porcupine-like zipper
I like the texture treatment you gave this bag. It’s enough to just keep the stingray action going, but I like the micro/macro aspect the studs add to it, in addition to the spike studs it seems to be in motion.
Gorgeous. I love the little “what’s in my bag” at the end.
Disagree about the “miss.” It looks like a sea creature as imagined by Edward Gorey, hauntingly lovely… In the photo where you replicated the image of the bag, it looks like a school of some fantastic creatures swimming.
This is luscious.
these was great
Your a genius. If only i had the patience to make things the way you do.
such amazing
Gosh, freakin fantastic bag!

this is incredible. I think all the comments on this post are so brief because everyone is awestruck
Katherine
I think I can speak for most people here when I say I love your blog precisely because it’s not focused on what you wear every day (for what it’s worth, I like the idea of having a uniform). All the “Look at what I bought” blogs give me mixed feelings—on the one hand, the better ones are creative, but on the other, they also promote conspicuous consumption on a near-daily basis.
Rarely do you come across blogs where things are being made, and that’s why yours is so riveting. Missing from most blogs is a design perspective, the work that goes into what we wear. That’s what I keep coming back here for and why a lot of us are more than willing to be patient to see what you come up with next.
A reuqest: I can’t find your post on dessert sandwiches, could you please put it into the archives? Thanks!
Hi. i’m from Moscow and i want to tell you that what you do – improbable!!! I very much enjoy!!!
I’m pretty sure that nothing about you could be boring! Love the clutch and that ring!
i feel ambivalent towards the bag.. i like the look of the bag because of the hardcore studs but it didnt do the stingray any justice.. the stingray’s caviar texture faded into the sea of studs..i hoped that u would do a very structured bag with no fuss detailings so as to showcase the texture, but maybe that idea doesnt fit ur avant-garde style. I do love the zipper pull! it looks like a futuristic sea urchin!! cant wait to see what you’l do with the crocs!
<3
it is so gorgeous i’m sure it will haunt my dreams. as always i’m in awe!
I love anything with stingray leather. Love the studs and stingray mix. I would have perhaps skipped the spikes and used suede fringe?
Can you add a studding video similar to your spikes tutorial?
wow, i am completely blown away. i have never seen something like this, A+
Overall, I agree with ‘clumsy’. But I can see what is throwing me off in that regard.
Wonderful:
+ natural pattern and shape of the skin.
+ lining.
+ dust bag.
+ spikey studs.
+ flat studs on suede.
Suggestions:
- ring of studs on stingray.
I think it would look a little ‘cleaner’ and work better with the shape of the bag if the solid graphic ring was directly on the seam between the suede and stingray. Right now the ring looks a little sloppy and uneven all the way around.
Not to say it should be ‘perfect’, but if the intent was for a more organic shape I don’t think the studs help with that.
Even if the top-half ring was removed I think it would make a huge difference, especially because the top half is black suede, and the contrast highlights imperfection.
- studs in triangle shapes on stingray.
I do like this idea, but I think it is a tad overkill with the studded suede. I would prefer if the lovely texture of the skin was highlighted by leaving it bare.
Anyway, I do not think you are a ‘genius’ and I am never ‘awestruck’ but you do have incredible vision, creative talent and work ethic. I respect that and only hope to see you grow.
@ Katherine: I do not think I am a genius either! Thank you for setting the facts straight.
amazinggggg…I honestly love it.
#(#**##*!!! this is fantastic!!! i just WANT IT! love it. well done!!!
lining is leather? i like the colour of the lining.
@ ++F+ yes it is leather.
Phenomenal.
Hello. I dont know if you even read this?? (; But i just loove your work, How did you learn it?? And i willy would like to know what your job is? besides this blog, if you have one? Im fourteen years old, and my dream is to be a designer or something creative… But anyway, if you someday want to learn a danish girl some of all the stuff you can do… (;
And would you do like a q&a??
//Laura
Not my favorite design but it’s a good size and I like the long spikes.
I don’t like the studs that are nearing the center like spikes or whatever. I know maybe they’re supposed to be the veins in the eye, but I think I would have gone without, or made them thinner and branching out like actual veins and not in the shape of a long triangle.
you might be the coolest, most fashion forward, genius in the world.
TheDeckmiami.blogspot.com
God really really cool……brilliant design!!
Awesome. usually nail works are so unoriginal… the only thing i don’t like is the zip detail inside the pocket, too ordinary. you should customize a “luxirare zip”
actually i always dreamed about a simple black leather “zip hat” i could wear on all those ordinaries metallic zips, but i’m not able to sew it. You are !
@ Valentine I’ll take that into consideration!
I just love how you played off the stingray when working up the rest of the clutch. The design is so cohesive. Swooning over your talent yet again!
Absolutely Wicked.
Your style and creative edge never ceases to amaze me – keep up the major work.
xo
Great design. I agree with the lining. Its a very important part and if the lining is great it will stand out from the rest

I think you are a genius.
Resolution and perfection require numerous prototypes, and time to reflect – I’m not sure how many you do but you can’t be expected to resolve every part in one go. Your attention to detail is impeccable and I love that you seem to just try things and go with your gut.
woohoo go you. I believe you are a star
