Exotic Skins
Inspired by several skins right now in varying textures. I came across a few stingray skins, they have this interesting pebbled texture and these two pieces I got had a natural white mark in the center. These would be perfect for a clutch since they are rather small.

Assorted genuine crocodile skins.

Cow Hides

Woow i love the corcodile skins and their color the nay blue one is so gorgeous!
xx,
Dimogonda blog
The multi dimensional quality of colored croc is always stunning. Those blues are to die for.
so sad you’re pro animal skins/furs. so sad
this feel gratuitous. I normally love your stuff. but really?
these are all gorgeous!
When one boils cow leather in wax, it becomes extremely hard. I wonder if that would be true for the skins.
Love the shagreen! Stunning!
xx
I love the stingray and the cobalt croco
i can’t wait to see what you do with these.
Oh my gosh! How much did those crocodile pelts cost?
I think you are an inspiring artist. I love your blog. But you should be able to be creative without supporting a cruel industry. I won’t be reading anymore.
I think theyre cool, but I’m really waiting to see the finished studded leather jacket….!
You have such a strange and alien eye, I love it!
I love all the skins, personally i’m more of a minimalist black and white person but the colours are quite great. Don’t pay attention to haters who say they won’t read your blog anymore. Get over it, I hope a crocodile eats you so you understand the circle of life finally.
your work usually astounds me but this just angers me. I am struggling to appreciate the beauty you are suggesting of something such as the crocodile skins when your (admittedly usual) photographic style protrays the subject in a way which is too clinic to suggest any even slight empathy for the creatures.
I am no animal activist but for some reason i felt compelled to post.
I’m sure you knew when posting this it would split readers but i still felt the need to comment
Just so we’re clear, i said i hope a crocodile eats the people defending crocodile rights not Luxirare.
whoa, you’ve acquired quite a variety of skins i see.
i can’t wait to see what you make of them
I have to agree with Katey and Kiki. I think the work you create is amazing, but flaunting all these skins seems so Cruella deVil (even if they were obtained “ethically”). I had hoped the tails were faux fur, but after this I can see they probably are real too.
If Katherine from the furtail thread makes an appearance here too, I’d just like to let her know that just because somebody doesn’t take pleasure in wearing the skin of other animals, doesn’t mean they can’t eat them for sustenance.
There’s still lots of love from me for your other pieces, but sadly I can’t bring myself to read anymore. Thanks for putting yourself out there though, your creativity is incredibly inspiring. x
I am interested to see what your final product will be from these skins. Great photos.

This is both wrong and upsetting. Isn’t the message to break beyond luxury? Lately it seems you have been doing nothing but what other “luxury”designers do. This is, over inflating the market with ideas that luxury has to be in your face and a saturated form of communicating ideas.

I’ve been looking for an excuse to buy a stingray skin recently – so far, no ideas. Looking forward to see what you’ll do with yours.

very excited to see and drool over whatever you create
Apparently stingray was once use as armour, because it was so hard.
I always wondered how people worked with the skin in accesories. Can’t wait to see what you’ll do with these!
I’va always been a regular reader of your blog, I think everything you do (clothes, food, photography) is truly amazing.. But this? proudly exhibiting crocodile skins on you website? That’s so lame and ruthless.
I am really appalled by this. In this day and age where we have so many materials to choose I don’t understand why someone feels the need to wear an animal. So cruel.
I love Luxirare, but I can’t support anymore after this.
skins are the best!
can’t wait to see what you’ll turn them into.
I certainly feel a revulsion seeing these skins (especially the unaturally coloured crocodiles) but then I remind myself I have plenty of leather shoes and bags. Would we have accepted these if we’d seen them in bag/shoe/other form?
I feel physically ill after reading this post. Such a waste of beautiful creatures.
DEAR LUXIRARE,
LONG TIME NO SEE!
LOVE THE NEW WEBSITE AND I SEE YOU FINALLY OPENED YOU E-COMMERCE; SO SAD THE ICE-WHITE LEATHER BAG WAS SOLD WHILE I WAS KILLING MY SELF FOR EXAMS! :[
I AM TRULY ANTICIPATING SOME GREAT STUFF COMING OUT OF THESE EXOTIC SKINS. I PARTICULARLY LOVE THE OFF-WHITE, BLUE GREY AND DARK BROWN.
I HAVE ALWAYS LOVE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY; YOU’RE TASTE, ABILITY AND TALENT IS PRECIOUS.
I STRANGELY DO NOT EAT MEAT (WELL, I DO NOT LIKE COWS OR PORK) BUT I LOVE FUR AND LEATHER. SOME PEOPLE FIND IT OFFENSIVE AND IMMORAL AND CRUEL. BUT I HAPPEN TO ABHOR WAR AND KILLING, IT IS IMMORAL, CRUEL, AND OFFENSIVE BUT PEOPLE AND COUNTRIES STILL DO!!
I OWN MONKEY FUR, COW HIDE, PONY FUR/HIDE, EVEN AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO AND EXOTIC TOAD LEATHER.
I AM SORRY FOR SOME OF YOUR READERS, BUT I DO UNDERSTAND THEM:
I HAPPEN TO FIND THE 6TH IMAGE; DISTURBING AND YES OFFENSIVE!!
WHY? BECAUSE ( I DO NOT KNOW IF YOU DID IT ON PURPOSE) BUT IT IS LIKE SEEING THE ANIMALS HANGING AND LINED UP THERE TO BE CRUELLY PREPARED FOR THEIR SKIN TANNERY.
I DO NOT FIND YOUR USAGE OF ANIMAL SKIN OFFENSIVE BUT AS I PREVIOUSLY SAID (PICTURE #6 FROM ABOVE).
I CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU CAN CREATE WITH IT!
AND HOPEFULLY I CAN PURCHASE SOMETHING AND HOLD A LUXIRARE’S LUXURY.
TAKE CARE,
RAFELINA C.
MAYBE IF THEY WERE NOT HANGING FROM THEIR TAILS!
OUCH! YEAH I CAN SEE WHY SOME READERS ARE MAD, IT WAS JUST YOUR PRESENTATION… DETAILS PHOTOS ARE BEAUTIFUL.
I AM SURE THEY WOULD LOOK MORE BEAUTIFUL IF THEY WERE JUST LAYING ON A TABLE.
AGAIN, CANT WAIT TO SEE THE RESULTS.
stingrays are so beautiful and graceful, why do people want to kill them?
The stingray skin is absolutely gorgeous. It looks like intricately beaded fabric with an eye in the middle. Nature’s wonderful.

i really love your blog!
i publish a post of luxirare
http://therealwildlife.blogspot.com/2010/06/killer-clothes-fine-cuisine.html
I can see the use of croc skin because there are too many of them now and they are quite agressive, but the use of sting ray skin is horrible….Sure they are pretty and but why kill them? The best place for skins are on the animal. Also, many of the rays populations are vulnerable. Even if they were breed for this cruel purpose, how is one to be completely sure that they are raise AND killed humanely? Cow leather is fine because the whole cow is used (meat, bones, etc) but what about these poor foxes and rays? I question your sense of “fashion”, “chicnes,” and “luxury” …
okay im probably late on this whole thing but i hadnt gotten on my computer in a while.
i just wanted to say that even though i dont completely agree with the presentation (it just looks a bit gruesome, im still fine with humane skin and fur use no matter how many ppl bitch at me for it) i find it pretty silly that people would stop visiting your blog just for that. do they not realize that the majority of bloggers and designers still use fur, skins, and leather?
just wanted to add my two cents, and of course ill keep reading because your pictures and style are absolutely stunning. as is that third croc skin, what a killer jacket that would make! no pun intended..
what does interest me though is the color change in the two first pictures of the crocs.. both are lovely, im assuming its the camera lighting unless the hue seems to change according to light exposure?
just another thought
hey luxirare!
i was just wondering if you’d let me scrape off some of your skin for this TO DIE FOR bag i’m making!
you know, no biggie.
ok, thanks bye!
These really are KILLER luxury items.
I’ve already commented, but after reading through the comments, wanted to comment again….
I think it’s cool in a very bold manner that you posted this, obviously realizing that it would probably lose you some readers. Fashion is art in which any medium has apparently been proven acceptable (last year there was the huge debate on the woman who purposely got pregnant and then got an abortion for one of her finals, or something, right? Claiming it was art.)
I won’t give my opinion on the fur/leather industry but I will most certainly continue reading your blog. (Seriously still moping over the fact that your leather bag has been sold).
Also curious-how come no one has made any comments about the cow hides and only the crocodile skins?
That stingray skin is beautiful.
I don’t understand some people. I mean … do you really think people kill stingrays just for the skin? What about all of the other animals? … And what exactly do you think leather is made out of?
It’s natural, people! Animal skins are the oldest form of textiles. I understand sometimes animals are killed specifically for the skins, but they’re not always killed inhumanely.
And the way they are hanging … what does that have to do with anything? Go back and look at some other posts from Luxirare. This same exact technique has been used several times before.
Any animal skin can be absolutely beautiful if used correctly. … If you love animals, why not celebrate their beauty?
It is my sincere wish that some of you will go out and find an crocodile to cuddle. I don’t see anywhere on here where she ever claimed to be an animal free designer.
I can’t believe some people are saying that they will stop following and supporting your blog after this post. As if they agreed with every single thing you have done so far? Whatever. You do what you want to do luxirare!
Those who are surprised and appalled are obviously new to the site so I don’t fault them for their reaction. I wonder if they are just as passionate about the human suffering certain companies use for their clothing/shoe production. Nike, for example (and many others) has a long history of employing, overworking, and underpaying CHILDREN in their sweat shops. Nike may have corrected the problem recently but for many years it was their practice. It’s easy to attack the fur/leather/etc. trade because it’s tangible and you can find gruesome footage of animals being killed online. I’m a fur/leather wearer, meat eater, and dog owner. I don’t think these things are in conflict with one another but I respect those who feel differently. Misha’s comment reminds of PETA’s over-the-top antics and shock tactics that completely dilute their message. Not to mention their contrived use of naked celebrities, most of whom are not even vegan. No, I wouldn’t want to be skinned for a bag and I wouldn’t want my dog to be skinned either. I don’t think I need to explain the difference between myself, a domesticated pet and a sting ray. I know we’d all like to think that we are, in fact, all the same. But we’re not. Judging someone based on their textile preferences is pretty ridiculous, don’t you think? I’m sure everyone’s great grandma probably wore a fur coat at some point. Do you hate her?
wow! so beautiful
That stingray skin is GORGEOUS. That pebbled texture is truly something else.
I don’t understand people’s comments about how you are just “conforming” to a kind of fashion that they disgust. You’re not showing off the skins because you want to seem luxurious and wealthy, rather you are showing off the skins’ beauty and the kinds of things you can do with them.
There is a big difference between “flaunting” a certain idea of luxury and merely appreciating its beauty and creating something amazing out of it. Skins aren’t just a way to show off how wealthy you are to afford them… maybe some people just like how they look. If skins were cheap, would you animal activists still hold the same disgust for them? Get over yourselves. Understand that a lot of people just love its texture and beauty, not just the monetary value it holds.
This may be a stupid question….but are the crocodile skins naturally that colour? Or are they that colour because they are dyed?
I feel terribly sorry for the animals, but stop reading you won’t make any difference, so I will keep on reading your awesome posts, because you are too outstanding!
(yes, this comment sounds stupid, just like those people telling you they’re stop reading your blog, who cares… they can only read and comment-just like me, ) i start wondering whether they have a pair of leather shoe. if they still own a pair, oh please shut up.
Your creativity is too appealing to be ignored, I only wish maybe in the future you’ll start using more artificial materials or latex, or something animal-friendlier… but it’s all up to you. I can’t wait to see your next posts..
Keep up your awesome works!!
It’s interesting to see people getting disgusted over an animal skin only after they have seen it in a way resembling its origin. It would be nice if they’d have the same disgust in cases in which the body of the killed animal wasn’t that obvious. This post evokes as much disgust in me as a leather jacket or a leather bag or leather shoes. I still find the designs Luxirare makes very interesting, though belonging to an ethical context which is something I do not see myself belonging to, and which doesn’t seem much different from any other leather-embracing context (and which doesn’t even seem much different from the lame maxim of the current pop-culture discourse: aesthetically oppose, politically conform, ethically ignore).
It’s sad people still tend to use leather in spite of all the excellent faux materials. If even Stella McCartney’s shoes aren’t made of leather, any other can be leather-free as well. But of course, if you don’t give a shit about ethical grounds of fashion and/or see the world in terms of a “life cycle” where a human is just another crocodile, well, of course you won’t give a shit about this either.
The stingray skin is beautiful! The black part look like water droplets.
it’s likely the rest of the animals were used too – you can eat stingray, crocodile and cow! probably just the presentation that puts people off, can look a bit cruel with lots of them laid out like that as opposed to made into something beautiful like a jacket. my only problem is that i think croc skins are tacky, fake or not haha.
Hello there,
I am curious to your policy on comments feedback between you & your readers/fans.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but I seemed to have noticed that when it is a comment questioning your moral standpoint, or an objection to your aesthetic taste, you are silent, and sometimes, the comment is deleted.
Yet, when it is praise or an innocuous question, you answer quite rapidly.
Please could you explain why there seems to be a discrepancy between your manifesto and actual practice?
@Wonder How many negative comments do you see published here? A lot of them are negative.
I’m curious as to where everyones moral outrage was all the other times you featured leather items on this site?
@nia
no, i am not like those crazy peta members and i do love fashion, but i still manage to find most of my shoes made out of veggie leather or other non-animal materials, and as for handbags, i’ve got a pretty extensive collection of ‘it’ bags that i have found from consignment shops – not to let these go to waste.
i am far from being someone who abstains completely from leather or other animal products (and for this, i do feel somewhat hypocritical) but i do my part and i DO NOT in any way support products made of exotic skins.
again this sounds hypocritical, but cows are sadly used anyways so cow hides are actually not that much of a waste. crocodiles however, are not that common. (please let me know which supermarket or fast food joint offers this meat, thanks.)
my point is, there is nothing wrong with enjoying fashion. even some leather if you are sure that it came from a source that will be entirely used – not from an animal most likely killed solely for your fashion enjoyment.
the idea of skinning a stingray is a little disturbing (no clue why i think that’s more disturbing than a cow or croc) but that skin is gooooorgeous. and the fact that white spot in the middle is natural makes it so much more awesome. that texture is amazing! can’t wait to see your future clutch. it’s gonna be so sick.
you’re rad,
cassie
Actually lots of cultures eat crocodiles and alligators. It’s not as uncommon as you think. I ate some in New Orleans a few years ago.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crocodile_farm
its sad that you’re pro animal abuse. i used to like your stuff but lately your really disappointing. i hope you have a change of heart and you research the way that there animals are treated and the terrible ways in which they are killed. skins/furs are NOT circle of life, and for your own sake as a person, i hope you stop supporting such a malicious and greed driven industry.
I have always been a big fan of yours. and really admired your work.
But such a cruel and crude display of croc skin is very disturbing and extremely mean of you.
You are very mean,I don’t know why you would do this…
I just don’t get it.
Why would you do this?
How can you be so mean?
What is wrong with you?
Cant you use your goddamn sense of creativity on something else that does not involve such brutality?
I am NOT reading your blog anymore.
What goes around come’s around…..
would you restock on the Luxirare Consolidated Bracelet?
Really wanted one but it went out of stock really quickly.
@ misha
I’m glad we can all agree that you are a hypocrite. It doesn’t matter if you brought a bag second hand or not. You are carrying a bag made out of animal skin and at the same time blasting someone else for using animal skin. Get over yourself.
Luxi, it looks fantastic. I just ordered a bunch of those XL cone spikes to do a white leather fannypack. They just look sooo good. Mind-blowing as usual!
HALCOHOLIC.com
Whoops, I was talking about the jacket. The skins are out of this world. So much inspiration here.
Hey, are you still making those colored tails? I’ve been having a hard time finding high-quality ones. xo
HALCOHOLIC.com
I think everyone’s just getting a little ‘Marie Antoinette’ moment here. If it gets people talking, it works. I’m speaking for myself here too when I say the way the skins are presented is fantastical and a little repulsive.
Misha, I am from Florida, and trust me you can find enough places that serve gator meat for eating.
Most if not all of these hate comments are just silly. All of these people have overreacted and are going on and on about how cruel it is that an animal has been killed as if Luxirare has skinned and killed the animal herself.
I bet that most of these people are also against the mulesing of merino sheep in Australia. Sure, the sheep gets to keep its tail, but because of this then in an environment like that of Australia’s, the sheep is extremely likely to get flystrike, be tortured by this and die slowly. People do not understand that by not having a sheep’s tail being cut off and some of its skin around the buttocks removed, that the sheep will suffer slowly and die, which is much worse than just losing some of its rear end.
This shows me that a lot of animal activists just act without doing their appropriate research and just rush into bashing people willy-nilly, their reasoning more or less being “it’s alive, and it’s so cute! You can’t hurt the animal!”
Maybe you should do some research into how these skins are produced for your ‘luxury’ fabric.
I KNEW as soon as I saw these pictures that there would be major controversy in the comments. Honestly, only the third picture bothers me a little, but I don’t have a huge problem with it. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinions, like it or not. Can’t wait to see what you’re going to conjure up with these!
the reason a lot of you are hating on luxirare is the same reason you love(d) her: her resourcefulness and shocking creativity. get a grip. “veggie shoes” for some, bright blue croc pelts for others. to each their own, right?
Ha ha. Maybe Luxirare was getting too many followers. Needed to get rid of some of the less, um, intellectually sophisticated.
And exactly why does how the way the leather is PHOTOGRAPHED bother some? I take it you don’t want to be confronted with the reality of what you’re actually wearing?
It’s the skin of a dead animal! If the beauty and brutality is all ‘prettied’ up, would you then be okay with it? It’s still the same dang thing.
And, like someone said above, why is slaughtered cow skin okay for everyone to wrap themselves in, but then some get all in a huff about other animals’ skins? Cows are beautiful, sensitive animals too. Have you all ever met one?
Oy, the hypocrisy of many commenters is…..funny!
Well, to the topic at hand, the stingray skin was, wow. Amazing. Isn’t nature mind boggling?
(signed) a happy, veg, non-leather wearing reader.
Love the croc and the stingray. If everyone on this planet are vegans and animal-free the earth would be blindingly aseptic and boring. All of us have the right to voice out opinions but to say that because of this some of you wont be reading anymore is silly- to me its like you’re subconsciously badgering her. This is her blog and she has the right to do whatever she wants.
Yeah sorry Luxirare, I love your site too and I always enjoy seeing what you create but this and the fur tails? Fuck off. And the fact you haven’t even picked up on the comments and responded, even to defend your own stance?
Nah I’m out, no more.
@popcorn, get your facts right!! Of course the merino sheep need their tales cut off for the Australian climate, but if you read into the process of how they callously rip their flesh from their bodies without recognising that we no longer live in the 18th century and there are MANY alternatives nowdays that wouldn’t cause the animal so much torture, pain and discomfort, because from the sounds of things you didn’t realize there are animal rights. PETA alongside Australian animal rights groups and even the Government ended up having to ban the mulesing or force them to take different options by Feburary 2010, and they did! So, obviously by that it shows how outdated mulesing really is. Maybe you should get out there and do some more ‘appropriate reasearch’ next time.
And @ Cole who hopes people will finally understand the meaning of life when they get eaten by crocodiles? I would have to say I have never laughed so much at someones arrogance and ignorance, but the stupidity of that comment hadn’t even reach that far…By golly, some people really do need to get their facts right!
Aside from idiot people and comments, I understand that it’s just a technique of yours to hang your items like that, they are already dead, and people should question why you would have animal skins in the first place, it doesn’t matter if they are being hung by their tails to look like you just skinned them. whyy would you buy them when crocodiles are one of the oldest creatures still unchanged after millions of years, and are becoming endangered?
Some people are right though, it is entirely up to you what you want to do with your blog and how you portray it to people, I am no animal activist and certainly no ‘hater’ of luxirare, I appreciate ones right to their freedom of speech, ESPECIALLY when they have valuable sources and can hold an intellengent argument!
“ohnoes, skinz. I’m outta here.”
so… what?
lol @ “intellengent”
bwahbwahbwah!
^^^^^
I think you meant to write “Oh no”*
If you’re going to lol at peoples typos you should make sure your own spelling is correct first!!!!!
I don’t see what the fuss is about, the post looks cool, the skins look cool.
Each to their own.
@ CVNT
I do Agriculture in University. It’s my major, actually. Rubber rings are used – the same as they use in castration. The same is also done with plastic clips. Things like intradermal injections aren’t cost-effective, and aren’t used often. Rubber rings aren’t painful to the animals, and mulesing is definitely still carried out. And they do not “callously rip the flesh” off of the animal, it’s actually a quite refined procedure nowadays, and the places that still use knives to remove the skin do so in a way that is least painful to the animal. I’ve actually witnessed this procedure being carried out myself – there is actually an extremely small amount of bleeding as only the first layer of skin is removed, and this small amount of bleeding only occurs around the outline of the piece of skin that is removed. It’s also common practice to provide things like anaesthesia or painkillers to the animal. And from what I’ve seen on the farm while I was doing some research for my Uni course, ear marking causes a lot more discomfort to the sheep, and while mulesing is being carried out (or rings/clips are being put onto the sheep), the animal doesn’t bat an eyelid and walks away as if nothing happened. So it seems to me that ear marking causes the animal much more discomfort and pain that mulesing (or the alternatives – still often referred to as mulesing for simplicity’s sake) is more or less a practice on a sheep that causes little discomfort, yet ear tagging is seen as a normal practice that nobody seems to have any objections to. Having lived on a farm for my whole life, I’ve seen my fair share of sheep getting mulesed, and if there still are farmers who carry out mulesing in an inhumane way, rest assured that those few will be put out of business soon (:
Well I haven’t been reading your blog for very long, I’d say about a week but I’ve gone through and seen majority of your work and I’m astounded! You put some much effort into things, it’s amazing!
And on the matter of skins, it’s personal opinion if you wear leather or not. If not either stop reading the blog or just keep your mouth shut. Were you never taught if you’ve got nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. She’s presenting us with an insight to her life and what she does. If your not happy with what she’s doing, use the little red button in the top right corner.
Carry on with the excellent work and continue to entertain us for years.
Adios,
Miguel.
I saw this post and I gasped-these skins are simply BEAUTIFUL. Where did you get them? I have some crocodile skins but I’ve never seen stingray for sale before!
And I agree 100% with Cole, many of you probably do not realize that faux fur and similar fake pelts are made out of PETROLEUM and plastic. They are not bio-degradable, they create pollution and they waste oil. If you want to wear a “fur” look, then just wear real fur, or don’t wear it at all.
@Allison
Yea, I know what you mean about the stingray, it was hard for me to come by them as well. I barely managed to snag these two pieces….Thanks for the comment!
Well, like many have said before, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Luxirare, the clothing you make is beautiful, and I am applying to Parsons in the fall. I am going to try not to be a veggie toting hippie on a milk crate, and i’ll be honest and say that I eat meat, I own leather shoes and bags. I am a hypocrite, I admit it. Sure i’m not helping the ecosystem and the environment out much. However I believe that when I see these pictures, I feel sick. I’m a stickler for animal cruelty.Mainly because, to me, when I see these pictures I think of my cat’s skin hung up on a hanger. And god damn, I fucking love my cats. Excuse my french. They purr and sleep on my head, and can be really annoying when they meow alot. You’ve posted pictures of your dog before Luxirare, you seem to like animals, and i’m sure you can understand how intelligent your pet is, and how it cares for you. So my question is, what is the difference between your pet and the next animal? The skins are beautiful, but I wish that you had had a little more tact in displaying them. There has been outrage towards the comments being made by animal rights acivists. To those of you who are shocked at our response, I can tell you that we view these animals like they are humans, you have the right to laugh or call us unintelligent. Your folly. Luxirare, i’m sure you knew the responses you would get, and I applaud you for your boldness, though i’m saddened by the post. I’m not going to stop reading, that’s pointless. You are wonderfully creative and I can see, that you have a wonderful future in the fashion world.
With regards, your sixteen year old reader,
Grace.
It is just how you interpret a picture with skins of crocodiles hanging on a rack.
Your interpretation might not be the same as hers and trying to make someone believe in your beliefs on ‘animal cruelty’ is the same as trying to convince someone to be a vegan.
There is no total right or total wrong.
the stingray is fantastic! since i’m returning to this post, ive seen the bag you made – of course, i love it!
the little indivual bumps on the surface remind me of the ‘caviar’ you made, which was equally awesome
you make the crocodiles and the stingray didn’t die in vain.
it was very interesting to read.
I want to quote your post in my blog. It can?
And you et an account on Twitter?
Since I first found your website, with every post, I have been blown away by your creativity, presentation, and craftsmanship. I think you are an incredible designer and maker, someone who I aspire to emulate.
however,
the crocodile skins made me sad. but you didn’t kill them, skin them, or dye them. I can’t fault you for using the resources around you.
I will continue to read and envy.
y doesnt ny1 seem to understand the eco-culture or the circle of life. ..
y do lions and tigers and other carnivores not eat plants and veggies. ..thts bcoz God has made them like that ..
some humans r veg n some non-veg . . .how can u let skins of those animals which humans eat go to waste . . .
AND WHO SAYS PLANTS DON’T HAVE LIFE .. .
they r living too . .but still v eat them. .just bcoz they dont hv voice or blood doesnt mean they r not living ,. . .
v humans r psycologically not wanting to see blood . ..bcoz it runs in our bodies . .and plants dont hv blood . . therefore it justifies their use. .
if every human on this planet would b veg. i think a lot of plants would hv already been extinct .. infact from the very beginning of this world man has been eating meat .. and tht is where d leather comes from ..
IT IS A BY-PRODUCT OF THE MEAT INDUSTRY
EVERY LIVING THING ON THIS PLANET IS DEPENDANT ON OTHER LIVING THINGS FOR FOOD.
WE HAE NO CHOICE BUT TO KILL THEM .. .OR WE WOULD DIE
THERE IS NOTHING THAT WE CAN DO ..
WHEN WE GO UP PROBABLY THEN CAN WE QUESTION GOD WHY HE MADE THIS ECO-SYSTEM
@ everyone
Appreciate all the heated debate and commentary, thanks guys.
Are you retarded? None of what you just said made ANY sense. “We have no choice but to kill them”…? Yeah, because on a daily basis I’m in such desperate need for food that I’m begging to eat crocodiles and stingrays. This is terribly, terribly sad.
These skins are beautiful, and inspiring. People are getting very offended- coming from Australia I am well aware crocodiles are a pest. It’s amusing how people haven’t cared about the use of leather but attack as soon as something that is different to what they normally see appears. I admire people who completely skip out on meat and animal products, and wearing skin, but those commenters who are leather wearers and should just get over themselves. hypocrisy much?
Killing, much? All of you people who condone this are so very morally corrupt. How can you call a living creature a pest in order to make yourself feel better about killing it for it’s pelt? Disgusting.
also that stringray skin is so incredible- the pebbley look is so amazing.
The sting-ray is awesome looking, never seen a pebble look like that before.
The croc skins with the bright colors look beautiful, they will do great this summer.
the sting-ray skin looks amazing. its incredible how it has that dimond shape in the middle.
Are you retarded? None of what you just said made ANY sense. “We have no choice but to kill them”…? Yeah, because on a daily basis I’m in such desperate need for food that I’m begging to eat crocodiles and stingrays. This is terribly, terribly sad.
