Edible shot glasses
I should have done this months ago, like during the summer as these are frozen alcoholic treats, but better late than never..

I’ll start out with making the Grapefruit Margarita shot glasses first.

I used fresh squeeze grapefruit juice, jalapenos, mint and lime juice to flavor the juice. Also added a bit of vodka in here. Then I sifted out the flavorings.

Take this mixture and fill into edible shot glass molds. I’m using this one.

That’s just one flavor, but it’s nice to have a variety and test this recipe with other cocktail blends..I was thinking of adding one of my favorites..Mojito..maybe a coffee/espresso based one, and …Grappa. Was going to a dirty martini frozen shot glass, but who wants to suck down something savory and salty…so I stayed with a sweet theme…

Some garnishes for the cocktails..This dish is available in my shop.

Grappa is usually enjoyed just as a straight shot after italian meals during dessert. This is my favorite Grappa.

Grappa is made from distilling the leftover grape seeds and skins from the wine making process so for the shot glasses I decided to use fresh sliced grapes and sweetened grape liquer to flavor it.

And for the mojito glasses, I flavored that with simple syrup, lime juice, seltzer water, and mint. Also added some silver flakes to it to make it special..

For the coffee liquer, maybe some flavored espresso with white chocolate spirits and Hazelnut Kahlua.

For the grapefruit margarita, just pour a shot of Tequila into the shot glass.

This one below for the coffee shots. I love iced coffee so I thought it would be nice to make frozen coffee shots..The espresso cups below are actually available in my shop.

Coffee shots. Don’t forget to chill your espresso before adding it in. The shot glass is just made of sweetened frozen black coffee and cream on top.

And the grappa…Shots of grappa will be poured into these.. Sliced grapes are frozen in some grape liquer and simple syrup.

Mojitos. Add vodka, rum or tequila..as you wish. I also added fresh squeezed lime juice into the shots.

After you are done with downing the shots, you can then enjoy the cool frozen shot glasses.

My favorite are the grappa shots. I love frozen grapes, so this is perfect for me.

Cheers! Thanks for reading, more soon.

It’s kinda funny how many people think I’ve dissapeared again, or how many inquiries I’ve gotten about all of the deleted posts. The posts have not been deleted, they have been relocated and reorganized under the Journal section of my blog. There are two other sections along with this webzine and I have been posting on a regular basis. If you look at my header, you’ll see links to the ‘Journal’ and ‘Live blog’. All of the more casual posts will go there. Thanks again.

Brings me back to your jello shots post.
Once again, absolute perfection!

Great idea adding the Popsicle sticks to the “shot glasses”. I have that same mold and it gets messy when you handle it directly and liquor is dripping down your hand while the glass melts!
A new Luxirare post!! I feel like a kid on Christmas morning! I would totally be making these if it weren’t so damn cold out.
This is insane. In a good way.

It would be great if the search function for luxirare.com can search the whole site including the different sections. I can’t find the chocolate cake post when I search here on luxirare.com, but it showed in the results when I used the search function in the journal section.

How fun and beautiful! A great idea I’m going to have to try…
This is amazing! You manage to jazz up everything you make. I’m not old enough to drink (legally, anyways), but this would be a great idea for juice or something.
super cool!!
Perfection
Ok this has nothing to do with this (awesome, of course!) post: a while ago you posted about how great Scott Disick’s style is. It struck me this morning that Ashton Kutcher has some pretty incredible style himself–infinitely more so than Scott, IMHO. Check out some photos of him (tonal dressing, esp.) and see if you agree….
unbelievable.
Its so beautifull ! I love the concept of it
So cool! I want to try all of these!

Haha! Absolutely amazing.
these are fantastic.
awesome! And beautiful photography as well
A very pretty idea, but I find one issue that I think might arise: melting!
There are two scenarios for these in my mind. Situation A is that you’re with a group of friends, looking to get into an even more celebratory mood, so you all are going to do a few rounds of shots. The enthusiasm will be focused (and rightly) on the comrades fairly quickly downing successive shots, where having to stop to eat your glass would be a minor buzzkill and has the potential for brain freeze after a couple rounds. Situation B would be that these shots are treated like cocktails, where they are made available to your guests to grab as they feel the desire. The only situation I can see this working in without melting is if your party had access to a freezer where guests could grab them from. This of course puts them out of sight, which is a shame as your lovely photos show.
