Crop Tops
I wanted to design an outfit to compliment this sequined blazer depicted in the pictures above (by one of my fave designers, Margiela), and it was actually tough to come up with something that goes with it, because the blazer is just so awkward and strange.
I finally decided it would have to be something simple, but at the same time somewhat futuristic looking (because the blazer is sort of futuristic looking), and super short, and maybe a little bit “slutty”. I wanted the length of the skirt to be meet the hem of the blazer which meant the skirt would be very short.. I sort of look like I lost my pants but I think this “lost my pants” look is actually a great look. Its okay, you don’t have to agree with me.
I used cords, and basted them horizontally on sheer mesh which took me a long time and was sort of …. a big waste of time…I could have been watching Law and Order SVUwhile eating triscuits.

Wow this whole look is amazing love the Margiela. Great idea with the cording on the mesh it is a lot better than the A Wang mesh dress,
You really make the most fantastic garments I have ever seen. That skirt and top are dead on. I love that it's cropped, and love the glove combination. The blazer is a ridiculous YESSSSSSS. Would die a million deaths for your design & sew abilities All I can really say is fuck my life.

How do you ever take that blazer off? I realise the shoulders would make sleeping somehwat difficult, but nonetheless, it must be tempting.

The blazer just blows my mind–I love how natural the sequin application looks–almost like its completely organic and gradiented–like it just grew (and peaked with some major shoulders).
But i'm equally as wowed by your amazingly constructed garments. I love how you took a combination–the sheer and cord–that we've seen, and delivered something newer and, in many ways, more original. I love the structure or the cord panels, almost bodice like.
You have such accelerated vision. And i'm totally down with the no pants look if its for a cause as important as proportion.

hey, where do you buy your mesh fabrics? i really want to make some see-through things but I can’t find any good, strechy AA-esque mesh.
I love that slutty is in quotes. I also love all parts of this ensemble, you defy the weightiness of lame clothing descriptions such as “slutty,” giving a cheeky lightness to the whole constructed idea of taboo vs fabulous. bravo you, another stunning situation!
